Union Air Freight Supports Red Cross Singapore’s Nepal Flood Relief Effort
Since devastating flash floods struck the Nepal-China border region on 26 August 2026, communities across Nepal have faced enormous hardship — homes destroyed, infrastructure damaged, and thousands of families displaced. In response, the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) launched a public fundraising appeal that has since drawn strong support from donors across Singapore, raising millions of dollars for relief operations on the ground.
As part of its relief package, SRC is delivering emergency water filtration units, alongside food supplies, to help affected communities access safe drinking water — a critical need in the aftermath of flooding, when contaminated water sources put entire communities at risk of disease.
Union Air Freight is proud to play a part in this effort. We have provided free cargo handling services for a shipment of water filters bound for Nepal, ensuring these life-saving supplies move quickly and efficiently from Singapore to the communities that need them most. For us, this was a straightforward decision: when disaster strikes and organisations like the Red Cross mobilise to help, we want our logistics capabilities to be part of the solution rather than an added cost.
Clean water access can mean the difference between recovery and prolonged suffering for flood-affected families. By waiving handling fees for this shipment, we hope to help every donated dollar go further — straight to the people who need it, rather than to logistics overhead.
We’re grateful to the Singapore Red Cross for the vital work they do, and to everyone in Singapore who has contributed to the Nepal relief appeal. If you’d like to support the ongoing response, donations can be made directly through the Singapore Red Cross’s fundraising appeal.
We will continue looking for ways to lend our operational strengths to humanitarian efforts, both in Singapore and across the region.
